Asia Pacific Lacrosse Union Announces Participating Teams for the 2025 Asian Lacrosse Games in Riyadh

April 28, 2025 – The Asia Pacific Lacrosse Union (APLU) is proud to announce the participating teams for the second edition of the Asian Lacrosse Games, scheduled to take place this October in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, officially sanctioned by World Lacrosse.

The following national lacrosse organizations have confirmed their participation:

  • China Lacrosse Association
  • Hong Kong, China Lacrosse Association
  • Lacrosse Association of India
  • Malaysia Lacrosse Association (Men’s Team Only)
  • Pakistan Lacrosse Federation
  • Saudi Lacrosse Federation
  • Singapore Lacrosse Association

This event will feature both men’s and women’s competitions in the fast-paced Sixes format, aligning with World Lacrosse’s vision to popularize the format for the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.​

Hosting the Asian Lacrosse Games marks a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia, reflecting its commitment to expanding the sport within their country and the broader Middle East region. The Saudi Lacrosse Federation, established in 2019, has been instrumental in promoting lacrosse through grassroots initiatives, workshops, and international participation.

The inaugural Asian Lacrosse Games were held in 2024 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where Saudi Arabia’s women’s team clinched the championship title, showcasing the rapid development of the sport in Saudi Arabia..

The APLU, celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, continues to foster the growth of lacrosse across the Asia-Pacific region. With the addition of new members like Bangladesh, the Union now comprises 21 national associations, underscoring the sport’s expanding footprint in Asia .
