2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship Asia Pacific Qualifier – UPDATE
APLU Board unanimously approved the motion to reschedule 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship Asia Pacific Qualifier, originally scheduled for 29th September – 3rd October 2020. The Board confirmed the followings below:
- The 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship Asia Pacific Qualifier will be held in 17th April 2021 – 24th April 2021. Further details to be determined.
- National Teams that had originally entered the event for 2020 will be the only team entering the re-scheduled event in 2021.
World Lacrosse had confirmed the extension of 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship qualification event period deadline. The qualification deadline has been extended into 2021 with no confirmed date by which these qualifiers must be completed.
At this stage, the Board understand the hardship National Teams face to prepare for the Qualifier event with restrictions dramatic changes regarding COVID-19. In response to this, the decision to reschedule the event was made through APLU monthly board meeting.
APLU will continue to closely monitor current Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) and responding accordingly. We hope that all stay safe and look forward to return to lacrosse once this situation recovers to some level of normality
